Overview
SolveStep ("we", "us") operates math-solver.online. This policy explains what information is and isn't collected when you use the site.
Information we collect
The math solver itself runs entirely in your browser. The equations and expressions you type are never sent to our servers or stored by us. We do not require an account, and we do not collect names, emails, or other personal details to use the core tool.
Like most websites, our hosting provider and any analytics tools we enable may automatically log standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, for the purpose of understanding site usage and maintaining security.
Cookies
We may use essential cookies for basic site functionality. Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device and is never transmitted to us.
This site also displays advertising supplied by Google AdSense, and advertising cookies are therefore in use. See the section below for what that involves and how to turn it off.
Advertising and Google AdSense
SolveStep is free to use and carries advertising to cover its running costs. Advertising is supplied by Google AdSense.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.
- Google's own handling of data from sites that use its services is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
To be explicit about the boundary: the mathematics you type, and any photograph you upload to the problem reader, are processed entirely inside your browser. That content is never sent to us, never sent to Google, and never made available to any advertiser. Advertising operates only on ordinary page-level signals such as the page you are viewing.
Third-party services
Besides Google AdSense, we use Google Fonts to serve the site's typefaces, and our hosting provider processes standard technical request data on our behalf. Each is subject to its own privacy policy.
Children's privacy
SolveStep is designed to be usable by students of all ages, including those under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the core solving tool requires no personal data to function.
Your choices
You can use SolveStep's solver without providing any personal information. You may disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy periodically. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "last updated" date at the top of this page.
